THE BUSINESS RISK
One domain. Many platforms.
One overlooked source can fail.
Customer email rejected
Customers miss bills, confirmations and login messages when the sending platform fails authentication.
Campaigns never arrive
A launch reaches fewer customers while teams search for the sending service that failed.
New tools break the setup
A new agency, CRM or signing change can introduce a sender that has not been configured correctly.
Microsoft Sender Compliance
Why Outlook rejects email from a business platform
Choose an example.
Outlook rejects email from your CRM or billing system.
The platform uses different sending servers or signing settings from your company mailbox. A correct Microsoft 365 setup does not prove that this other service is configured correctly.
Customers miss invoices, confirmations or campaign emails.
Comply identifies sending services and helps automate SPF/DKIM alignment. Check the platform’s actual messages and authentication results.
Explore ComplyA rejection says the sender has insufficient authentication.
Microsoft uses error 550 5.7.515 under its high-volume consumer sender rules. Read the rejection and inspect the platform that sent the message.
Resending the same email does not fix the underlying configuration error.
Find the sending service, check SPF, DKIM and DMARC results, and correct the configuration with Comply and the platform owner.
Explore ComplyA p=none record meets a minimum policy rule but does not block failures.
A valid reporting-only DMARC policy can meet the minimum policy requirement when the required authentication and alignment pass. It does not request quarantine or rejection.
The company may meet the policy minimum without enforcing its email identity.
Use Comply for authentication readiness. Add Protect to progress to an enforcing DMARC policy and manage later sender changes.

- 02
Connect configuration to ownership
Resolve SPF, DKIM and alignment with the teams running each service. Review reverse DNS, bounce handling and accessible unsubscribe controls.
- 03
Validate the real mail flows
Test representative messages and review the resulting headers and responses. Keep the evidence connected to the sender and the change.
- 04
Maintain and strengthen the programme
Use ongoing authentication visibility to catch drift. With Protect, plan a separate move from minimum DMARC policy to enforcement.
High-volume requirements concern Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live and MSN. Review sending around 5,000+ messages per day.

Common questions
Does this apply to every Microsoft 365 mailbox?
These high-volume sender rules concern Microsoft’s consumer services, including Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live and MSN. They are not the same as configuring Microsoft 365 as your sending platform.
What does error 550 5.7.515 mean?
It identifies insufficient authentication under Microsoft’s high-volume consumer sender requirements. Review the sending service and its SPF, DKIM and DMARC results.
What authentication is required?
For the relevant high-volume mail, SPF and DKIM must pass. DMARC needs a valid policy of p=none or stronger and at least one passing identity aligned with the visible From domain.
Why can one platform work while another is rejected?
Each platform can use different servers, return addresses and signing domains. Test and configure every legitimate service, rather than relying on a company-mail test.
