How to Setup DKIM for Mandrill?

Mandrill

DKIM uses cryptographic signatures and public-key infrastructure to verify that an email message has not been altered during transit and that it truly came from the claimed sender. Email senders can use DKIM to sign their messages by adding a DKIM-Signature header field to the messages. Email receivers can then use the public key published in the DNS to verify the signature and check that the message has not been tampered with.

How to Setup DKIM for Mandrill

  • You must first add your domain to Mandrill.
  • Log into Mandrill and select Settings > Domains.
  • Put in your domain name and select “Add”

The DKIM DNS record that you must publish in your domain’s DNS after adding your domain and configuring DKIM for Mandrill by clicking “View DKIM Settings” will be found as follows:

mandrill._domainkey.yourdomain.com

Record Value

v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p= (your unique key generated for your domain)

Wait up to 24 hours after publishing the TXT record for your DNS to take these modifications into account. Finally, in your DNS management panel, select the “Test DNS Settings” and look for a verification mark against your record.
