Email brand spoofing continues to be an issue for major retailers.
Due to the pandemic, retailers in 2020 are relying heavily on e-commerce, which means they are boosting their email marketing activities during the holiday season. However, there is a problem: most retailers have not put as much work into securing email as they have into enhancing its effectiveness.
The effect is a shocking, industry-wide weakness in one vital field of email protection.
Just 22 of the top 100 retailers are protected by DMARC, with an enforcement policy in place to discourage unauthorized usage of the domain.
